Real estate agents are at the forefront of fair housing

Our nation’s painful history with housing includes redlining, racial covenants, and both de jure and de facto segregation. By the same token, real estate professionals are uniquely positioned to take a lead in breaking down the enduring binds of institutional inequity that continue to inflict damage on our communities, our families, and our colleagues.

An all-inclusive, all-embracing organization

The Kris Bowen Real Estate Group is an all-inclusive and all-embracing organization. We strive to improve the professional lives of our members while providing consumers the resources they need across every facet of the homeownership experience. Homeownership should not be out of anyone’s reach because of their skin color, their national origin, or their membership in any other protected class. Inclusivity is a staple of our organization.

How we live it out

We follow Fair Housing laws. Diversity, equity, and inclusion align with Fair Housing and the Code of Ethics for real estate professionals. Real estate professionals must treat every client and employee fairly and equally, regardless of race, sex, religion, color, sexual orientation, handicap, gender identity, or national origin.

We market and sell homes fairly. Real estate agents must market and sell homes ethically, always mindful of unfair or discriminatory practices.

We build cultural competence. Cultural competence is the ability to understand and interact effectively with people of other cultures.

We continue to learn. Continued training, education, and discussion are crucial to maintaining diversity and inclusion in real estate.
